This site displays photos taken over the years at Toys for Tots, Native American Program events. The Navajo Nation and the Marine Corps have had a special relationship since the “Code Talkers” of WWII fame. The Navajo Toys for Tots program started in 1980. In 1997 the name of the program was changed to the Native American Toys for Tots because over the years we added other tribes in the Southwest. The U.S. Marine Corps Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is an official activity of the U.S. Marine Corps and an official mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. The Native American Toys for Tots Program receives toys from individual collection sites, the Toys for Tots Foundation, corporate donations, and from the generosity of the American public.
Photos by Bill Stanley (Captain USMC 1966-1970) and Rita Steinhauer (friend of all Native Americans).
